About

I’m a researcher at the University of Bonn working on AI alignment. My interests include scalable oversight, multi-agent systems, and applications of many-body physics to understanding neural networks.

Previously I was a researcher in theoretical physics (many-body physics, spintronics, quantum transport).

I also photograph, write stories, and dabble in music.

AI Alignment

- Scalable oversight by learning to decompose tasks

Working with Florian Mai on one route to supervising increasingly capable AI systems: an AI learns to break a hard task into “safe” subtasks that a human-level model, or a human, can reliably judge.
